When Pepsi asked us to craft the motion design for the UEFA Champions League Final Opening Ceremony announcement, we knew it had to hit big. Paris big. Worldwide big. With Camila Cabello in the spotlight, the brief was simple: create something alive, cinematic, and worthy of football’s biggest stage. 

Pepsi brought in Warbb to shape the art style and atmosphere. A world bursting with color, butterflies, and bold Pepsi details inspired by Camila’s roots. Then ROSH made it move. We animated the scene, built the rhythm, and brought the energy to life. 

The result was a dazzling announcement video that set the stage for an unforgettable night in Paris.

turning vision into reality

Director Anthony Rubinstein led the project from first sketch to final shot. He united every creative voice, from drone pilots to choreographers, into one flow. Filming at Universal Studios, he steered the chaos with precision. His focus kept ideas sharp, timing tight, and energy high. One steady mind bringing artists, brands, and technology together in perfect sync. A true director’s touch, making the impossible look effortless.

From greenscreen to living world

The footage was shot with a custom drone carrying a vertically mounted cinema camera across a 150-meter green stage. After that we built a 3D world that blends Camila’s palette with match-night energy. The story pivots on an elevated outfit transition, timed to choreography and beat-locked motion design. We worked with her team in Los Angeles ahead of the shoot, planning every move to make this spectacle come alive.

Three giants, one vision. Champions League, Pepsi, and Camila Cabello each brought their own world. Logos, colors, and cultures all needed space to shine without stealing the spotlight. We found the rhythm between them, blending energy with elegance and balance. The result was a living world where brand and artistry moved as one. Distinct and still perfectly in harmony.

Flight meets filmmaking

Beverly Hills Aerial brought in their custom-built FPV octocopter, made for moments like this. A Red Komodo with a 24mm lens, mounted vertically on a Ronin-S, ready for flight. It moved with the agility of an FPV drone and the precision of cinema gear. A move no crane could ever pull off, smooth, fast, and impossibly fluid. That 360 fly-around shot only existed because of their skill and engineering. A perfect dance between technology and creativity.

Turning stills into something that moves

With Warbb’s world in place, it was time to animate. Our 3D world grew around the footage: flowers unfolding, trees rising and the stadium growing. Each element was timed to the movement and music, keeping the scene alive and connected. Everything was rendered in layers and passes for Rufus to blend in compositing. A smooth handoff and clear communication kept the process fast and precise.

A team effort to remember

This project was a true mix of minds and craft. From directors to drone pilots, from artists to animators, every skill played a part. Each discipline added its own spark, building something bigger than the sum of its parts. Working alongside such talent was both humbling and energizing.
